Department of Disability & Aging Services (DAS) and IHSS

Department of Disability and Aging Services helps San Francisco older adults and adults with disabilities access essential supports to live safely and independently. DAS oversees IHSS and connects people to services like home care support, benefits and case assistance, caregiver resources, and protective services.

San Francisco IHSS Public Authority

The Public Authority supports IHSS consumers and providers by connecting them through the Provider Registry, offering coaching and training on how to navigate IHSS, and assisting with Back-Up Provider Services. The Public Authority also provides caregiver training and support and administers health, vision, and dental benefits for eligible providers.

Homebridge

In partnership with Homebridge, the IHSS Public Authority offers free caregiver training for eligible IHSS providers, including self-paced online courses and live virtual trainings.

Family Caregiver Alliance

Family Caregiver Alliance (FCA) provides free information, education, and support to family caregivers, including care planning, coaching, and connections to local resources.

Institute on Aging (IOA) – Friendship Line (Emotional Support)

24/7 emotional support line for older adults, caregivers, and adults with disabilities.
