The Canon Kip Senior Center provides a hot lunch, case management, and community services to low-income elders 60 years and older. Over half of the participants are currently or formerly homeless. The Center is open on holidays. After 3 p.m., services are by appointment only. In addition to a meal, the Center offers an afternoon computer lab, exercise classes, support groups, nutrition workshops, occasional field trips, gardening groups, BINGO, and the opportunity to read the paper or play cards. The Center also distributes 75 bags of groceries, weekly. On the third Saturday of every month, the Center celebrates participants’ birthdays with a hot lunch, live music, and dancing. The Homeless Senior Support Group meets each Tuesday at 8:30 a.m.
