CAAP provides cash assistance and employment services to low-income San Francisco residents with no dependent children, including those who cannot work and immigrants/refugees. The program issues cash benefits (up to $473/month) on the first of each month through an Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card, that can be used at participating stores and restaurants like a bank card or to withdraw cash at various surcharge-free ATM machines throughout San Francisco. CAAP also provides free monthly MUNI fast passes, and one-time assistance with obtaining a free California DMV Identification card.
