Mariah Martinez
University of San Francisco,
Masters in Behavioral Health
The goal of Mariah's project at the Public Authority is to increase the amount of consumers who successfully hire a provider. It has been a collaboration between various departments at the Public Authority as well In Home Support Services. This project will benefit the Public Authority as it's end goal is to provide a detailed layout of the consumers interaction with the IHSS system, along with recommendations on how to make this process easier for the consumer.
Mariah was born and raised in Gilroy, CA. She attended Humboldt State University where she graduated with a BA in Psychology. She now lives in San Francisco where she works and goes to school. Her hopes and dreams for the future are to decrease the stigma around aging and improve services and access to resources for aging adults. She enjoys traveling, trying new foods and rooting for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Lillian (Lily) Moll University of San Francisco,
Masters in Behavioral Health
Lily’s fieldwork project at the Public Authority attempts to improve outreach toward potential Consumers and Providers in under-served neighborhoods, and address issues that may affect the relationship between both parties. She will be conducting Provider focus groups and directing community centered outreach at local resource centers.
Lily has a passion for applying her knowledge to help the elderly and disabled community. She has worked in multiple nursing homes and acute care settings. As a San Francisco native and current resident, she is particularly interested in helping seniors in her community that have been affected by the rising cost of living. After graduating she hopes to work in the non- profit sector helping low income seniors adjust to changes in their health and care needs.
Will Bernick
Will went through the San Francisco public school system. In 2013 he received his B.A. from California State University East Bay. Will works with the Public Authority through a program sponsored by the California Department of Rehab. At the PA he does data entry, filing, and administrative support. He enjoys long distance running, sports, and volunteers at the Presidio on weekends. He is active with the AASCEND adult autism group, and is co-host of the television show, “Life on the Autism Spectrum”.
