The On-Call Program provides services to IHSS consumers who are in urgent need of personal care and have been referred for services by IHSS social workers. These are usually consumers who are being discharged from the hospital or some other facility without anyone to provide them assistance at home, their regular provider is not available, or they have not yet been able to hire a provider.
On-Call services are available during regular business hours:
Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and evenings until 8 p.m.
Weekends and Holidays
An assigned On-Call counselor checks on messages for On-Call requests at various times between 9:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.
